Whenever you get the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks together, nowadays at least, you expect fireworks to take place between James Harden and Luka Doncic. Two of the biggest stars in the NBA today faced off on Monday night, and it was all one-sided in the favor of the Mavs as Doncic completed his first triple-double of the new season in what was by far his most dominant performance of the first seven games. Doncic finished with a ridiculous set of numbers, scoring 33 points, dishing out 11 assists, and also grabbing 16 rebounds on top of all of that. In doing so, he put up 30-15-10 for the third time in his career.

He has three of the five occurrences of that particular accomplishment, showing how good he’s been at the ripe old age of 22. His performance, as well as the fact that Tim Hardaway, Jr. contributed 30 of his own from the bench, helped the Mavs post a huge fourth quarter to run away and win 113-100 at the final buzzer. The aforementioned Harden, still clearly not at his best as he pines for a trade, finished the game with a double-double with 21 points and ten assists.
