Fins Hold Off Bills, Eagles Win In Washington

Jonathan Grant | September 26th, 2022

Three teams remain unbeaten in the NFL following Sunday of week 3. The Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles are the only teams to emerge from Sunday with perfect 3-0 records, having won tight games. The Dolphins did so at home by besting the Buffalo Bills 21-19 after Josh Allen and co. made some lapses late when they had opportunities to potentially win the game. Despite Allen passing for 400 yards and rushing for nearly another 50, as well as the Bills holding the ball for over 40 minutes, the Fins still found a way.

Tua threw for a TD and 186 yards on 13-18 passing while they moved the ball just 212 yards, but champions find ways to win and they did just that. The Eagles, meanwhile, won much more comfortably as they went to Washington and commanded the game over the Commanders 24-8. Jalen Hurts threw for three touchdowns and 340 yards and DeVonta Smith caught eight passes for a TD and 169 yards. On the opposite side of the ball, the defense held the hosts to just 240 yards, pushing them to the same 3-0 mark that the Fins hold thus far. Elsewhere, the Kansas City Chiefs fell to 2-1 after a loss in Indy to the Colts by a 20-17 score line. Matt Ryan came through in the clutch, producing a 76-yard drive that culminated with 24 seconds to go, as part of a two-TD game that saw him throw for 222 yards. Pat Mahomes was held to less than 300 yards on the other side of the ball, and it meant that Indy moved to a symmetrical 1-1-1 on the year. Another surprise came in LA as the Chargers were battered 38-10 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags got two TD tosses from Trevor Lawrence as they improved to 2-1 thus far.
