It’s a very interesting time in the NFL. Teams and players continue to make big moves, and one of the biggest that took place on Wednesday happened to be a trade between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chicago Bears. Just a year after signing Nick Foles to the biggest deal in their franchise’s history, the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback has been swapped for a fourth round pick.
The 140th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft will hand the Jags a 12th selection, giving them plenty of wiggle room should they decide to try and bring in a new QB or even supplement Gardner Minchew under center. As for the Bears, this is also rather interesting. They already have Mitchell Trubisky at QB, so this could either be the sign that he is done, or it could simply mean that there will be a competition for the starting spot. Trubisky was poor in most statistical measurements last season, so it would seem that Foles would have a decent shot at winning the #1 job if he can remain healthy. That is a big if, of course, as he missed a significant portion of last season due to an injury.
