The German Bundesliga began another match day on Thursday as Eintracht Frankfurt traveled to take on struggling Werder Bremen. When the dust had settled, despite a strong first-half showing from the hosts, it was the visitors that had plundered all three points via their 0-3 victory.
Portuguese striker Adrien Silva continued a strong run of form recently by slotting home in the 60th minute, giving Frankfurt the lead. Their advantage became unassailable in the last ten minutes when Stefan Ilsanker, on as a substitute, scored twice. His 81st and 90th minute strikes ensured Bremen lost yet again at home. They have only one home win all season, and they are currently 17th, which will see them relegated from the division if they don’t turn things around quickly. Frankfurt are now on 35 points, putting them eight clear of any such danger for the moment.
