After a tremendous defensive performance against Clemson last Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs have vaulted up the rankings in the AP Top 25, moving from #5 prior to the game all the way up to #3. The Bulldogs, picked by many to be contenders and some to be eventual national champions this season, completely startled the Tigers, helping them clinch an all-SEC 1-2 at the top.
Alabama, of course, remains on top after steamrolling poor Miami. Ohio State, Oklahoma, and a third SEC team in Texas A&M round out the top five while Clemson begins the second half of the top ten. Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Iowa State, and Iowa complete the top ten currently. The latter two will clash on Saturday in a big-time rivalry game. The other big ranked action to take place in week 2 will see #12 Oregon travel to Ohio State. That game, as well as the clash of the Iowa schools, could be what causes the most motion this coming week.
