When the chips are down on the table, you want a superstar on your side. That’s what the Milwaukee Bucks had on Sunday as they took down the Los Angeles Clippers thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo and a late rally saw them overcome what looked like being almost a certain defeat. Down 100-96 late, they went on to score nine consecutive points to close out the game and take a 105-100 victory.

Giannis scored 36 points in total for the game, but it was perhaps his influence on the defensive side of the ball that was most impressive. The Bucks showed their defensive fortitude in the final minutes, not allowing the Clippers to make a single basket in the last four minutes of action. But he also did outscore the Clippers by himself in the last eight and a half minutes, scoring 17 to the Clips’ ten. That’s now five wins in a row for the Bucks, who are rolling and looking like the kind of team that we all know them to be. The Clippers who got 25 from Kawhi Leonard but no more than 16 from anyone else, fell to 24-12 with the loss while the Bucks climbed up to 21-13 with the ‘W.’
