If you’re a fan of lots of offensive production, then you would have loved Saturday’s playoff games in the NHL. In four games, a total of 34 goals flew into the net, giving you plenty to enjoy. The Colorado Avalanche scored seven of those as they went on the road to win 7-3 over the Nashville Predators to take a 3-0 series lead as Gabriel Landeskog compiled two goals and two assists and Cale Makar dished out three helpers.

Four of the seven goals came from their unstoppable power-play attack, and you just can’t see many teams competing with them at the moment in this sort of form. Elsewhere, the Washington Capitals fell behind early to the East’s top seed Florida Panthers before hammering them 6-1. Ilya Samsonov made 29 stops in the net while Marcus Johanson and Alex Ovechkin each recorded a goal and an assist in the romp that puts them up 2-1 in surprise fashion. In Pittsburgh, the Penguins also took a 2-1 series edge as they laid siege to the New York Rangers’ goal in a 7-4 triumph. Evan Rodrigues had two goals and an assist while Jeff Carter scored twice as the Pens rode a four-goal opening period to easily skate to victory. And finally, the nightcap saw the Dallas Stars win Game 3 over the Calgary Flames 4-2 behind a two-goal showing from Joe Pavelski.
