Going Coastal: Chanticleers Roll Past Kansas

Jonathan Grant | September 11th, 2021

Coastal Carolina doesn’t like to lose ball games. Not in college football at least. Having gone the entire regular season last year without a loss, they have begun their 2021 season 2-0 as they look to do the same yet again. Friday night’s opponent for the #17 ranked team was Kansas, and they picked up a third straight win over them in dominant fashion by winning 49-22. The offense was downright efficient.

Running back Reese White rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries while QB Grayson McCall had two TD tosses and a scamper as well as 245 yards on 17-21 passing. Wide-out Jaivon Heiligh caught six passes (one of which was a TD) for 122 yards. Despite the Jayhawks’ offense picking up 412 total yards, they never really had a chance on the road and fell to one of the newest, most surprising big programs in the nation to begin the week’s games for ranked teams.
