After about seven months of negotiations, plenty of which saw Jamal Adams plead to be traded, the New York Jets have finally done so, sending him to the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday in exchange for a couple of first round picks in the next two years and safety Brandon McDougald.
Of course, the deal is going to depend on the physicals going well, but apart from that it looks complete. Adams, an All-Pro safety, is just 24 and was said to have not been under consideration to be traded. But recent criticism of coach Adam Gase led them to go ahead and pull the trigger on getting rid of a man that has been a top five stats leader in nearly all categories over the last five seasons. Having signed with the Seahawks, there are currently said to be no ‘long term plans’ according to sources.
