Knicks Stay Hot, Win Ninth Straight

Jonathan Grant | April 25th, 2021

Raise your hand if you thought the New York Knicks were going to be relevant in 2021. Don’t lie. Hardly anyone did due to the simple fact that they just never are. But this team is rolling right now, and they are the hottest team in the NBA following a ninth consecutive victory on Saturday. This one, a 120-103 dismissal of the Toronto Raptors, was keyed by double-doubles from both Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. The former had 31 points to lead all scorers and ten rebounds while the latter was able to put up 25 points and haul in 12 rebounds as well. The Raptors had three men post 26 or more, but no one else could manage to score more than eight.

The Knicks, meanwhile, despite the high point totals of the two aforementioned spread their scoring around well. That included Derrick Rose chipping in with 16 from the bench in 33 minutes of action. The win took them up to 34-27 and it also set a good tone for them. That’s because the last time they went on a run like this was when they made the playoffs. They definitely look like they will be in them now. The question will be which seed will they claim and whether or not they can make a surprising run and take down one of the three big shots in the Eastern Conference or not.
