With the restart of the NBA coming soon, and the need to increase the size of their rosters, teams are looking high and low for players that could come in and have some sort of impact. One of those teams is the Los Angeles Lakers, and they definitely are reported to be signing someone that can make an impact, that much is for sure.

JR Smith, according to sources, will soon be joining the Lakers as they head to Orlando in search of their first NBA title in a decade. Smith, of course, has been one of the most widely-mocked players in the history of the game due to his exploits with the Cleveland Cavaliers a couple of years ago. In a game where they could have defeated the then unsinkable Warriors, Smith ran the wrong direction on the court, allowing the Warriors to win Game 1 of the Finals and make it a laugher the rest of the way. His experience playing with LeBron James is thought to have helped this move, and it will be interesting to see if he plays much of a role, even in the ‘new normal’ bubble world.
