We are one big step closer to the Western Conference Finals match up that we had all anticipated throughout the season. The Los Angeles Lakers took Game 6 of their series with the Houston Rockets on Saturday, confirming their place in the Finals. They will now await either the Clippers or Nuggets, with most expecting the Clippers to win one of the remaining two games to get themselves there. At any rate, it was a case of pure domination on the day for the Lakers as they walloped Houston by a score of 119-96.

James Harden may have led all scorers with 30, but LeBron James had 29 points and got a lot of help from others to help push the Lakers well over the top of the beleaguered Rockets. Anthony Davis only had 13 in the win, showing just how well they played to not have had a huge number dropped by one of their bonafide stars. The next series will not begin until at least Wednesday, so that will give them a fair amount of time to rest and recover as they prepare for the potential of two more rounds. The win confirmed their place in the WCF for the first time since 2010, completing a comeback for a franchise that had gone wayward for some time.
