Laugh or scoff if you like, but Wednesday night’s meeting between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Nuggets in Denver might just have been a preview of the Western Conference Finals. That’s how good both teams are, and it’s a potential each could (or should) live up to. This particular game sure did not disappoint, with the game heading into overtime before the Lakers, behind the brilliance of LeBron James, eventually held them off to win 120-116. James put up a triple-double that included 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists. On the losing end of the stick was Jamal Murray, who also had the same number of points- 32- in the narrow defeat.
Nikola Jokic was pretty good as well, coming up with 22 points and 11 rebounds, though he was stifled a bit by Anthony Davis. Davis had been kind of quiet in regulation, notching ‘just’ 24 points, but he came to life in the extra period by scoring seven of those to help the Lakers end up on top. They remain four games up for that number 1 seed as of now, though LeBron claims that they are not concerned with that too much. We don’t really believe that, do we?
