There are a lot of potential emotions that go along with being traded to a new team. Joy, anger, sadness, sentimental, all of these are valid and understandable. It’s not rare, though, that you get to see relief come along with it. But that’s exactly the feeling that Caris LeVert, formerly of the Brooklyn Nets and now a member of the Indiana Pacers, has at the moment.

Because of the trade, which also involved Victor Oladipo going to the Rockets and James Harden to the Nets, LeVert was thoroughly examined by the Pacers’ medical staff. That examination found a mass in his left kidney via MRI, and while we don’t know if it’s cancerous or not yet, he is out indefinitely until the situation is resolved. It is times like these when we realize the value of physical, even if it does seem mundane to a fan and like a ‘formality.’
