Damian Lillard did not have a very good game, all truth be told, on Wednesday night. Despite that fact, however, he still led the Portland Trail Blazers past Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors with a couple of clutch moments late. Lillard scored 22 for the game, leading his team, but he made just six of 17 shots from the field for the night. One of them, though, was a big three-pointer with less than 14 seconds to go that put his team ahead 108-106. That wasn’t his last contribution, either.
With the clock expiring and the Warriors on offense, Draymond Green drove to the basket only for Lillard to be there ready to take the charge. He drew the foul and the Blazers held on to win, even on a night where he wasn’t up to his usual standards. The aforementioned Curry led all scorers with 35 as the Warriors slid to 19-17 thanks to a second straight defeat. The Blazers are now 20-14 after winning a second in a row following a four-game slide prior to that.
