The UEFA Champions League is back, and the first matches of the group stage concluded on Wednesday night across Europe. Liverpool was one of the teams who won, defeating AC Milan in a dramatic affair at Anfield by a 3-2 score. Liverpool led early but had their advantage wiped out by two quick goals shortly before halftime from the Italian visitors. Mo Salah restored parity three minutes after half time and Jordan Henderson won it with 21 minutes to go.
Elsewhere, Manchester City racked up the goals as they slammed RB Leipzig 6-3 at home. Christopher Nkunku scored all three for the visiting Germans, but City’s offensive prowess was too much for Jesse Marsch’s team to overcome. Ajax also won by a big scoreline, dominating Sporting Lisbon 1-5 on the road. Sebastien Haller scored four times for the Dutch team in that particular contest. In other action, new-look PSG (with Messi) surprisingly drew 1-1 with Club Brugge and Real Madrid won 0-1 in Milan against Inter thanks to a very late Rodrygo goal.
