The field is all set for the Daytona 500 on Sunday following the running of the Duels on Thursday night. The winner of the first of the two races was a familiar face, with Joey Logano repeating the feat he had achieved last year. He did so after causing a huge ruckus back on Sunday for his involvement in the Clash’s wreckage, making it that much sweeter.
Aric Almirola gave him a great push, so that contributed to that. In the second of the two Duels, it was youngster William Byron that took the #24 car to victory lane. Kevin Harvick had looked like the dominant car for most of the 60-lapper, but Byron made a late move with Kurt Busch that wrestled that position away from ‘the Closer.’ Ricky Stenhouse, Jr and Alex Bowman came out of the races unscathed, meaning they will each make up the front row Sunday, while Logano and Byron will be on the second to begin the 500-mile race.
