There were a few eyebrows raised when the Los Angeles Clippers decided to part ways with head coach Doc Rivers after their immense failure this past season. With both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George joining an already good team, they were unable to make it past the second round of the playoffs. As such, Rivers was let go.

The team has moved quickly to fill the vacancy, and Thursday the news emerged that Ty Lue would take over the helm. Lue was the assistant under Rivers this past season, and he has championship-winning experience as he helped guide the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA title. The 43-year old is said to have signed on for five years, so he will most likely be given plenty of time to build a team on his own terms.
