What we witnessed on Friday night was truly special. Sure, the two teams that met- the Dallas Mavericks and the New Orleans Pelicans- might have come into the game under .500. But that didn’t mean the end result was at all disappointing. What we got was a whale of a game, with both of the two team’s biggest stars taking center stage. Zion Williamson and Luka Doncic each had career-high nights in scoring in what ended up being a 143-130 win for the Mavs.

Doncic scored 46 points to go along with 12 rebounds and eight assists while Williamson put up 36 of his own on a night where he missed just one shot from the field. Unfortunately for him, his supporting cast just wasn’t good enough, as Kristaps Porzingis also scored 36 for the hosts, allowing Dallas to inch closer to .500 at 13-14 with a fourth straight victory.
