It’s not the first time, nor will it be the last, you’d have to imagine. But Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred put his foot his mouth again on Monday.
The first (recent) set of comments he made essentially guaranteed fans that baseball games would be played this year, giving fans a unrealistic quote that pretty much made us all look dumb seeing as how every report currently states just how far off the two sides are. Then on Monday, he doubled down by going back on what he said, saying that he is “not confident” any longer about the prospect of playing in 2020. This, now, has angered the players, according to the MLBPA’s Tony Clark. Then again, it seems like everything angers them, so what’s new. The whole situation is rotten, and we’re probably going to see a strike sooner or later.
