It’s never a bad feeling to make your former team pay for getting rid of you. Or to punish a team that chose not to draft you. The latter is exactly what DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks did on Monday Night Football as he helped take down his ex-employers. The wide receiver was instrumental in a 23-17 win, making ten catches for 177 total yards. He did not have a touchdown, no, but he racked up those yards and helped them drive down the field multiple times.
At one point, he hurdled defenders akin to a deer running through a field. With Russell Wilson playing as solid as his usual self, the Seahawks were able to comfortably win it despite not scoring a touchdown after the first quarter. That’s how rough the Eagles’ offense was, as they only scored their second TD of the evening with just 12 seconds remaining to reduce the deficit to six. Much too late, in truth, to do anything about the end result. With the win, the Seahawks moved up to 8-3, which places them a game ahead of the LA Rams in the NFC West. As for the Eagles, they dropped to 3-7-1, which looks (and is) bad. However, the New York Giants lead the NFC East with a 4-7 record, so anything remains possible in that very wacky and truly awful division.
