If reports and sources are to be believed, Major League Baseball’s return is just a little bit closer to happening now. According to the ‘rumors,’ the owners approved a plan yesterday for a return to action (and a beginning of the 2020 season). It’s said that MLBPA (players association) will be presented with the plan on Tuesday.
We shouldn’t expect them to say yes or no extremely quickly, but there is a lot riding on this and we might have answer sooner than we would otherwise think. It’s said that part of the proposed plan including teams returning to play in their own stadiums starting in early July. It’s being rumored that the owners are also wanting an even ‘50-50’ split in revenue, which is probably not going to be accepted by the players. We’ll just have to see how it shakes out, but it’s good news that we at least have some work going on behind the scenes.
