MLS Is Back Tournament Draw Made

In case you haven’t heard, MLS is Back. And unfortunately, that’s the (somewhat) silly name they have come up with for their Tournament offering. It, like the NBA, will be staged in Orlando, but it will begin on July 8th. There will be three games a day (like the FIFA World Cup), and will include all 26 teams. The group stage will whittle them down from 26 to 16, then they will play knockout games just like you’d see at said World Cup. Group matches will count toward the regular season, while the knockout rounds won’t. However, extra money will be on the line as well as a lucrative CONCACAF Champions League place, so it does give some incentive for teams to try. The draw was made on Thursday, and it produced a compelling match up in the form of ‘El Trafico’ being drawn. LAFC will take on LA Galaxy in the group, while Canadian rivals Toronto FC and Montreal Impact were also placed together. Here’s the full draw:
