MNF: 49ers ‘Humble’ Rams For First Home Win In Over A Year

Jonathan Grant | November 16th, 2021

The Los Angeles Rams had lost just once in their opening eight games of the 2021 NFL season. Over the last two weeks, they have dropped two in a row following a ‘humbling’ 31-10 defeat in San Francisco to the 49ers on Monday Night Football this week. The main culprit on this particular evening? Deebo Samuel. While Jimmy Garoppolo was solid under center, it was the wide receiver that brought the most life into the affair for the ‘Niners.

He scored two touchdowns, one on an eight-yard run and one on a 40-yard pass, and had over 100 all-purpose yards. His first TD put them up by 14 at the half while his second saw them go up by 24, effectively killing off the game for them. The defense did its part as well, picking off Matthew Stafford twice and allowing just 278 yards from the Rams’ usually high-octane offense. It was a balanced game plan from the hosts, and that paid off as they improved to 4-5 with a second win in their last three. They are back in the hunt now, it would appear, after a horrible month-long losing run. The Rams, meanwhile, are 7-3 and trail the Cardinals by a game in the NFC West currently.
