Collin Morikawa was not too keen, apparently, on not playing on the weekend the last time he played. Having missed his first cut ever (in 22 rounds- only three behind Tiger Woods’ record), he bounced back in a big way on Thursday at Muirfield Village.
He took the lead after the opening round of the Workday Charity Open by shooting a solid if not spectacular -7 65. He leads by one stroke over Adam Hadwin and two over four others, one of which is veteran Zach Johnson. He could have had a two-shot advantage over Hadwin, but he bogeyed for the first and only time of the day on the 18th hole from the fairway. So, that will sting a little for him as he attempts to build upon his lead come Friday.
