If there has been anything proven in the NBA Playoffs this year it’s that the Denver Nuggets simply don’t know how to quit and can climb out of any hole they find themselves in. Despite that fact, it was very clear that they did not want to fall down 3-0 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night in Game 3. Thanks to Jamal Murray and co. they did not.
The 114-106 win underlined the obvious that Murray is now in that superstar echelon of players as he scored 28 points and dished out 12 assists in another dazzling performance. The Lakers, who got 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists from LeBron James in a phenomenal triple-double showing, made a late rally attempt to come back from a deficit. That, though, was thwarted by a pair of three-pointers made by Murray to halt them in their tracks. The Lakers also got 27 from Anthony Davis, though no one else in the purple and gold put up more than 12 on the evening. The Nuggets got 26 surprising points from Jerami Grant and 22 from Nikola Jokic to help take them over the top and to their first win in the series.
