The NBA’s wheel just keeps on spinning and spinning. Another day has passed and with it came plenty of moves. Both trades as well as free agency moves were made, with the biggest appearing to be sixth man of the year Montrezl Harrell heading to the Los Angeles Lakers. This comes after the free agent decided to leave the Clippers after three seasons.
He averaged just over 18 points and seven rebounds per game last year, but he did have struggles, understandably so, following the death of his grandmother. Still yet, it’s a definite upgrade for the defending champions, as they saw Dwight Howard leave to join the Philadelphia 76ers while Harrell came in for them. He’ll bring plenty of energy and quality; exactly what’s needed if they are to go back-to-back. Elsewhere, in a move that is sure to draw laughter for some- and ire for others- is Trevor Ariza’s latest change. The forward, a veteran of the league, will officially join his fourth team in a week as he’s been included in a three-team deal that now has him landing in Oklahoma City… for now. He’s been with the Thunder, the Pistons, the Rockets, and the Trail Blazers. That’s a heck of a week. Where he ultimately ends up is yet to be determined, but he’s definitely been a major part of many teams’ acquisitions.
