With the US Open moved from its traditional week in June to September this year, a lot of stirring had begun to take place at the Fox Network. How exactly they could fit the tournament into their schedule was uncertain, and as such, they began ‘shopping’ the idea of trading off with another broadcast partner.
In the end, NBC has decided to take on the tournament, as well as the rest of the USGA events as well, and they will have them until 2026. NBC was the logical place, as they have the Golf Channel already, and they also were the partner up until Fox won the bid in 2014. NBC will now show the US Women’s Amateur, US Amateur, US Open, and US Women’s Open this year.
