The NCAA has not always be en the kindest of organizations to its athletes, but they have done something for them in the middle of this pandemic. Due to the NBA pushing back its Draft indefinitely, there is no timetable for students to make up their minds about going back to school or entering.
Therefore, the NCAA has extended the deadline for them to decide it, seeing as how we could still have months between us. Typically, the NCAA only gives them a certain amount of time to decide, and if they take too long they then become ineligible. Why they don’t allow anyone to get drafted and then decide is beyond us, but that’s collegiate sports for you. The deadline was set for June 3rd, but that will no longer be the case. The Draft was supposed to go down on June 25th, and though there has been no announcement yet, it’s expected to be pushed back.
