The Toronto Raptors had hoped to continue their franchise’s longest winning streak on Wednesday night when they traveled to Brooklyn to take on the Nets, but a 16th consecutive win was just not on the cards on the evening. Serge Ibaka had one of his finer outings of the season, leading all scorers with 28 points, but the rest of the team just did not have it as they fell to a slightly surprising 101-91 loss.
Apart from him, only Fred VanVleet had more than 20 points (22), while the bench was dreadful, combining for just nine points in 61 minutes of action. The Nets weren’t brilliant, either, mind you. But they were very balanced. Five players finished in double digits, with Caris LeVert leading the way with 20.
