Jonathan Grant | October 8th, 2022

The NHL season is officially on, beginning on Friday with a match up in Prague between the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks. It didn’t take too long for the season’s first goal to be scored, with Kiefer Sherwood notching that just 1:01 into the contest.

Tomas Hertl equalized later in the period to send his hometown into raptures, but three unanswered goals for the Preds, including one that was assisted by Sherwood, gave them a 4-1 victory when the dust had settled in Central Europe. Nino Niederreiter, another new member of the team along with Sherwood, also scored on his debut with the team in the Czech capital. Juuse Saros made 30 saves in net for Nashville, helping make their first European trek a success.
