NLDS Game 2’s: Braves, Dodgers Both Up 2-0

Jonathan Grant | October 8th, 2020

Both the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers moved a step closer to meeting one another in the NLCS on Wednesday as they each grabbed victory in Game 2 to go up 2-0 in their respective series. The Braves did so thanks to a third (from four) shutout of the postseason as they blanked the Miami Marlins 2-0. Ian Anderson was great for them in 5 2/3 innings on the mound and they got just enough power as both Dansby Swanson and Travis d’Arnaud homered to lift them past the underdog Marlins.

The Braves had four hits, while the Marlins only had three in a tight contest. It wasn’t exactly the same in the Dodgers’ win over the San Diego Padres, though. Their was a decent amount of offense, but in the end the Dodgers once again came out on top, prevailing 6-5. Cody Bellinger was the unquestioned hero. Not only did he hit a home run of his own in the close win, but he also robbed the Padres’ Fernando Tatis, Jr. of a home run with a catch at the wall in the seventh inning. That proved to be the decisive moment of the game, giving his team and Clayton Kershaw the win in the process.
