It’s been a tough, tough couple of years for the Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani. The all-around superstar had Tommy John surgery in 2019 only to return during the shortened 2020 season and have further injury issues. Those appear to possibly be behind him now, however, as he stated that he hit 97 MPH during ‘live’ batting practice on Wednesday.
This is, obviously, very encouraging for not only the Angels but fans of the game as a whole that wants to see the Japanese superstar go to work both on the mound and at the plate. Hopefully, we get to see his best this season, and if we do, it will be a real treat to watch a true two-way player carving up Major League Baseball.
