The NBA, if reports are to be believed, are closing in on nailing down a city for the completion of the 2019/20 season. And that city, to no real surprise, is that of Orlando. It has been speculated and talked about for a couple of months now, and though Las Vegas was mentioned as recently as a day or two ago, this was always the most likely choice.
Orlando, via the Disney World site, just makes sense as far as business goes. ABC and ESPN, who are under the umbrella of Disney, have a big portion of the contract as far as the NBA goes. Sure, TNT is also involved, along with regional networks, but you can’t overlook the amount of money that Disney has invested in the product. With ratings tanking due to a lack of live sports to show, they’ll be desperate to get something on. This is about as good an idea as they’re going to get, in all honesty. Now it’s just going to be getting their ducks in a row and ironing out the details.
