The New England Patriots, in case you have been living under a rock lately, which honestly you may feel like you have been, have had their proverbial world turned upside down in the last week. Tom Brady will no longer be their quarterback, so a new era has been ushered in. We still don’t know exactly who will replace him as the #1, but the Pats re-signed Brian Hoyer on Sunday to fill some of the gaps and bring some experience in.
Hoyer was the #3 for a time in New England last year before he was eventually shipped out to the Colts. He joins Jarrett Stidham, who is believed to be in the driver’s seat at present, and Cody Kessler as the QB’s on the roster at present. The team will pay him, reportedly, just over $1 million this season, taking his total compensation up to $2 million following his release from Indy. We’ll see how things turn out, but it’s a hunch that he or one of the other two will be moved out of the way before too long.
