The English Premier League held a video conference on Thursday to discuss plans for the future amid the Covid-19 outbreak, and while they did decide that the season would not reconvene until at least May, they also came out with a bit of good news. They made it clear that the current 2019-20 season will be finished before the 2020-21 edition is allowed to begin.
This is a bit controversial for some, but for others it makes perfect sense and seems to be the most fair. How exactly this is going to be done remains to be seen, but we do now that they are committed to making sure that the season is brought to a conclusion. Some feel like many- if not all- of the remaining matches will be contested before empty stadiums, but at this stage, that just seems like a necessary evil.
