Raptors, Nuggets Pull Even In Playoff Series

Jonathan Grant | September 6th, 2020

The Toronto Raptors were seconds away from being down three games to none against the Boston Celtics in their second round NBA Playoff series. But after Saturday night, they are level at two games apiece, incredibly. The 100-93 win was hard-fought, but all that hard work eventually paid off. Both Pascal Siakam (23 points and 11 rebounds) and Kyle Lowry (22 points and 11 rebounds) had double-doubles in the affair that made sure the series remained interesting following OG Anunoby’s late heroics in Game 3.

Jayson Tatum had 24 for the losing Celtics. Elsewhere, the Denver Nuggets also pulled level in their series with the Los Angeles Clippers thanks to a 110-101 win in Game 2. They basically led the entire way as well, with Jamal Murray playing another fine game by posting 27 points. He wasn’t at his best, but neither were the Clippers, which allowed for a comfortable Nuggets victory. Nikola Jokic also had a dominant game, scoring 26 while rebounding 18. Paul George had 22 to lead the Clippers, who looked to have regressed a bit from where they had been previously. Whether or not they can get back to playing like they were remains to be seen, but they certainly won’t be advancing if they play like this going forward.
