It doesn’t look like the MLB Players’ Association is all too interested in making big trades with the owners. At least if the most recent sources are to be believed. It’s being reported that the league offered the players both the ‘universal’ DH as well as an expanded playoff format for the upcoming 2021- of which no one knows when it will even begin- that was summarily turned down.

While we don’t know the full reason as to why it was done so, some believe that it’s possibly because the players don’t want to bargain for more playoffs in order to get the DH permanently in the National League. Perhaps some players are purists and just don’t want to see the DH included all of the time in the league. At any rate, tensions remain high among the two sides, and that could contribute to a lot of waiting and hoping for a ‘regular’ regular season in the year to come.
