Reports: Tua Time In Miami

Jonathan Grant | October 21st, 2020

If reports and sources are to be believed, and they so often are in the modern age of sports reporting, Tua Tagovailoa is closing in on his first start for the Miami Dolphins. And it could be this weekend as they open Week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams. Tua, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star, was given the chance to impress this past weekend against the woeful New York Jets in a blowout.

Apparently that has been enough to convince the Dolphins’ brass to make the move from veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to the rookie QB. Fitzpatrick has not been dreadful under center, but the plan all along has been to give the torch to Tua when he was ready. Now, it appears, is the time in which he’s been deemed ready to go, so we will see if he can help the 3-3 Dolphins into the playoffs, something that seemed unfathomable a year or two ago.
