Rockets Deal Westbrook To Washington

Jonathan Grant | December 3rd, 2020

The Houston Rockets are no strangers to making big moves and being willing to wheel and deal. They have shown that once again as they made a big move, reportedly, on Wednesday as they dealt Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in a deal that will see them land John Wall in exchange.

It’s the second straight year they have traded guards, with them switching Chris Paul for Westbrook a year ago with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Now, they have, apparently, landed Wall, a talent that has long sought a change of scenery out of DC. Washington will also be sending a first-round pick in the deal, as Westbrook is older and has something of a reputation. Westbrook, along with fellow star guard James Harden, had both been adamant about not necessarily wanting to be with the team any longer. Westbrook has gotten his wish, and now it’s a matter of whether or not he will stay put or being moving on in time.
