A bit of history was made on Saturday when the NFL awards for the 2020 season were announced. That’s due to that fact that Aaron Rodgers was named MVP of the league for the third time. In being bestowed that honor, the veteran quarterback became just the sixth player to have accomplished that feat. That puts him on par with legendary greats such as Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Jim Brown, and Johnny Unitas. He’s two off the pace of Peyton Manning’s five, however, as are the other four listed.

Aaron Donald took home the honors for Defensive Player of the Year, doing so for the third time in four years, thanks to a season that saw him record more pressures on QB’s than anyone despite being constantly double-teamed. Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans won Offensive Player of the Year after racking up over 2000 rushing yards and scoring 17 touchdowns. The Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year went to Justin Herbert and Chase Young, respectively, while Coach of the Year was taken by Kevin Stefanski. Comeback Player of the Year, of course, was awarded to Alex Smith.
