SEC Week 3 Full Of Offense: Alabama Survives While Georgia Thrives (Late)

The finally score looks a little (lot) more comfortable than it really was. Alabama’s 63-48 win over Ole Miss was anything but on Saturday night, but the most important thing that came from it was that ‘W’ that saw them improve to 3-0 on the new season. The #2 ranked team in the country was matched every time, it seemed, by the Rebels in the game, but eventually they proved to be too much. Their running backs were averaging over seven yards a carry, with Najee Harris racking up over 200 on the ground himself.

Bleacher Report

Mac Jones only missed four of 32 throws for over 400 yards in his own right as well. They hung on to win, and they now face a showdown clash against the #3 Georgia Bulldogs next week in Tuscaloosa. That is sure to be a fine game, with both coming into it at 3-0. Georgia will be following their 44-21 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday afternoon. Trailing by one at the half, they came out in the second and didn’t allow a single point from the #21 Vols. Stetson Bennett was solid once again under center, and the defense responded tremendously in the second half to prove they will have something to say against ‘Bama next week. Another tussle of ranked foes occurred in the SEC as well as #21 Texas A&M upset #4 Florida by a score of 41-38. Meanwhile, #17 LSU were defeated 45-41 by Missouri for a second straight loss while #13 Auburn won thanks to a late field goal vs. Arkansas. What a wild, wild day full of offense in the SEC.
