The Seattle Sounders are headed to yet another MLS Cup Final after they defeated LAFC, the top seed in the entire playoff bracket, 3-1 in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. It wasn’t straightforward for them, though, as the home team got off to the ideal start, scoring in the 17th minute via a beautiful free kick from Eduard Atuesta.
The Sounders didn’t wait too long to reply, however, getting a goal back to equalize just six minutes later from a fine piece of play from Raul Ruidiaz. In the 26th minute, they had turned the game on its head, with Nicolas Lodeiro brilliantly rolling one in to the bottom left-hand corner. In the second half, Ruidiaz gave them a two-goal cushion, and they held on to win the Western Conference. They will now either play at home against Toronto FC or on the road to Atlanta United, depending on which side wins out on Wednesday night in the Eastern Conference Final.
