The San Diego Padres, if anything, have shown that they are not shy to make moves as they look to maneuver into becoming a legitimate World Series contender. According to sources, they are closing in on yet another big move, as they are said to be reeling in pitcher Blake Snell from the Tampa Bay Rays as we speak.

Snell, a former Cy Young winner, would be sent out west in exchange for a couple of prospects and two catchers, according to the sources. The Padres had previously been looking into both Yu Darvish and Sonny Gray, but they now have their focus firmly on Snell. Snell was infamously lifted from Game 6 of the World Series, so perhaps it’s not real shock to see he could be moving on.
