Team USA basketball need not panic too much. Having lost two games in a row to Nigeria and then to Australia, the Americans rebounded on Tuesday to throttle Argentina 108-80 and rebuild some of that confidence up.
Unlike the previous two affairs, the team played at a higher pace throughout the entire duration of the game, helping ease them along against what is, admittedly, an Argentina team that is nowhere near as great as it once was. Both Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal each dropped 17 points while Zach LaVine took his chance to impress by scoring 15 after starting for a resting Jayson Tatum. Friday’s clash with the Aussies will show a lot more, you have to think, about where this current USA squad are ahead of the Olympic Games.
