The NBA is much, much closer to getting restarted than Major League Baseball is, and because of that, we can look at how things will be laid out. Reportedly, the high points include the ‘regular season’ resuming on July 31st, the official playoffs starting on August 18th, and the NBA Finals commencing on September 30th. How we get there, though, is equally as important, because it is much different from what players are used to.
In the past few seasons, the league has made a big effort to space out games more to allow for players to get more rest and reduce injuries. This will not be the case at Disney, however, as almost every game will have just a single day of rest between it and the next. One potential exception would be Game 7 of the Finals, as they would want to push that back due to it ending up on a Sunday, which would, of course, clash with the NFL. It’s going to be tough on some players, and the title could go to the fittest- not necessarily most skilled- team in the league.
