It isn’t often that you see Tom Brady make a mistake. It’s even less often that you see him make a mental error. But that is what took place late in the game on Thursday Night Football this week. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as a result, fell to a 20-19 defeat to the Chicago Bears. Brady simply forgot what down it was, and he was trying to move the ball up into field goal range in order to win it.
Rather than keeping the game going, it instead ended matters. Nick Foles, who was 30-42 for 243 yards and a TD (as well as an INT) knocked off Brady but had to do so after falling 10-0 down in the first quarter. The Bears improved to 4-1 with the victory, while the Bucs fell to 3-2 thanks to the loss.
