TNF: Patriots Defense Routs Atlanta, Claims Fifth Straight Win

Jonathan Grant | November 19th, 2021

The New England Patriots didn’t come into 2021 with a whole lot of expectations on them from the outside world. Having lost Tom Brady before the 2020 season and then going through a rough season, many felt 2021 might be more of the same. That, though, does not appear to be the case as they are finding their bearings in 2021. Following their 25-0 destruction of the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football this week, they are 7-4 and have rattled off five victories in a row.

From Pats Pulpit

This one was mainly a product for their outstanding defensive play in which they picked off four passes and only allowed 165 total yards of offensive production from the Falcons. One of the interceptions was ran back by Kyle Van Noy for a 35-yard TD return, putting the icing on the cake and concluding the scoring. In all, the Pats’ D picked off three different Falcons quarterbacks, with Matt Ryan being the victim twice. Under center, the Pats got a solid night on the road from Matt Jones. He went 22-26 for 207 yards and a TD toss. When you have a defense such as theirs, it doesn’t take much, and this outing showed to be abundantly clear.
