1st Down: LeBron James isn’t just interested in playing the game of basketball. He also wants to be an owner, stating his intention to the world by declaring he’d love to bring a team to Las Vegas in the future following his team’s preseason loss there to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday evening. James, who played for 17 minutes and had 23 points in the warm up game, even appealed to Commissioner Adam Silver with his plea. It’s not the first time he’s said he wanted an ownership stake, either, so there may be something to do this one of these days.
2nd Down: Draymond Green hasn’t always been the most kind of teammates, and that reputation continued as reports surfaced on Wednesday that the Golden State Warriors center had been in an altercation with Jordan Poole earlier in the day. Allegedly, the two had been having a war of words before it turned into pushing and then led to Green punching the guard. The team are, according to sources, looking into the matter now, and it appears that Green might receive some form of punishment for his role in the conflict.

3rd Down: The game had to wait a few days extra, but the UFC Knights made it worth the wait on Wednesday evening as they took down SMU 41-19 at home to move to 4-1 on the season. Down 13-10 at the half, the Knights hung 31 unanswered points on the Mustangs in the third and fourth before the visitors scored a late consolation touchdown to make it look a little less bleak. John Rhys Plumlee had 316 yards passing and two touchdowns while receiver Javon Baker made six catches for 138 yards. SMU fell to 2-3 with the reverse.
4th Down: The UEFA Champions League group stage is halfway done after Wednesday night’s games across Europe, leaving teams three more chances to move themselves into the round of 16. In Manchester, City got two more goals from red-hot Erling Haaland as they demolished Copenhagen 5-0. Elsewhere, Lionel Messi scored for PSG as they drew 1-1 in Lisbon to Benfica while Chelsea got a 3-0 triumph at home over AC Milan. Real Madrid had to battle for a 2-1 win over Shakhtar and Juventus comfortably saw off Israeli outfit Maccabi Haifa in a contest that saw Adrienne Rabiot net twice for the Italians.
