The UFC had a ‘Fight Night’ card on Saturday, hosting a number of bouts in Brazil in an empty arena. Despite that fact, it appears that, much like the WWE, that the show will go on. That is because Dana White has declared it to be. He has stated that the fights will continue, even as they search for arenas to host the upcoming ones.
Depending on who you are, this is either good news or bad news. You could be in the camp that it will at least give you something to do, or you could feel like it’s an unnecessary risk to take. Either way, it looks like it is going to happen, so that alone makes it newsworthy. Saturday’s card was headlined by a lightweight match up between Charles Oliveira and Kevin Lee. Oliveira won by submission when he used the guillotine in the third round. The next high-profile bout set to take place is UFC 249- in which Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov- are set to clash. The two have had five fights called off for various reasons so far, and some would consider this to be a further omen that the thing just isn’t meant to happen.
